Chrome desktop extension doesn't show highlights and neither the star indicating the page was bookmarked in iPad via highlighting there

I added highlights to a page via the Safari iPadOS extentension. This also adds the page as a bookmark.
When I revisited the page on my desktop, the chrome extension didn't show me my highlights and the star indicating that the page was already bookmarked didn't show up.
Using Chrome v. 103.0.5060.134 on Windows 11.
