Markdown capability itself is really important.
For example there is a PDF file uploaded to the raindrop storage. But now I want to add the link where this PDF is from. If markdown is supported, then I can maybe directly click the link.
Second part is that, sometimes one link might contains several important sections. Current plain-text description is also possible, but will be harder to annotate those sessions in one link.

L N: Yeah, but that's luckily the liability of the publisher – the user, rather than the platform – per Section 230(c)(1) of (I believe) the DMCA.
