Lol this has been planned for quite a while now.

Either this or hierarchical tags.
Based the way I organize things, an item sometimes need to be categorized in not just one category.
Normally that's the concept for tags, but given that most people use collections as the primary way of organizing bookmarks, if they support this then I'm good too.
Especially given that the collections already have nice icons, they might be easier to distinguish visually then using tags.

Is Raindrop abandoned now?
Jacob Sam-La Rose
Ambitendency: Nope. A fair few recent updates attest to the fact that Raindrop is very much alive and actively developed... ;)

I need this also and I believe it will bring a lot of value ... hopefully it will be something like a multiple quick selection on bookmark action and maybe on edit too

Is there an ETA on this? I have been loyal to Raindrop for a long time now, but this is a necessity when you start to build up a vast quantity of bookmarks and collections. I've resorted to switching to Anybox in the meantime, but would much rather use Raindrop. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to implement. Rustem Mussabekov

In raindrop we talk about collections, not folders. So, yes, it makes sense that you can have a bookmark in multiple collections at the same time. Tags are something else, one thing does not replace the other.
I have set up collections depending on the type of bookmark it is (an article, a video), or depending on the context (toolbox, events, design references, etc.), while tags are just about the topics. They perform a different function.
Also, I have some personal collections and some public. There are some bookmarks that I need to have in both. Please!

I just came back to give Raindrop another go after abandoning it a long time ago. I think I left because I got frustrated with sticking bookmarks in folders (aka collections) and forgetting what I put where. I also felt the process of saving to collections was a bit time-consuming. I decided this time around to abandon collections altogether and strictly use Tags. I think that will allow me to save bookmarks quicker, as I find it easier and faster to choose relevant tags than it was to decide what collection/folder to store them in. Since a bookmark can contain multiple tags, it's a bit liberating rather than thinking, "should this go in this collection or that collection? Hmm?" 🤔
